MP ROTA ON HAND TO WELCOME CROATIA TO NATO

Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota traveled to Zagreb, Croatia, last week witnessing the ratification of Croatia’s membership into NATO.  Mr. Rota, who currently serves as a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Transatlantic Relations, says that it was honour to witness such a historic event.

78 per cent of Building Canada Fund announcements made in Conservative ridings

OTTAWA – A review of the first billion dollars of project-specific announcements made under the Building Canada Fund since 2007 shows that more than three-quarters of projects were in Conservative-held ridings, Liberal Infrastructure Critic Gerard Kennedy said today.

    National Hunger Awareness Day, co-ordinated by Food Banks Canada, is a call to Canadians to take action to ensure that we no longer need food banks in this country. Every month, food banks help more than 700,000 Canadians, 37% of them children. Seniors, the disabled and even people working full time who are unable to make ends meet are among those who turn to food banks.

The Conservatives have become a single issue party. The issue is taxes. They want them higher and they will have more of them to pay for their staggering deficit. Their leader told the House two days ago that he will not bring in another budget, and I quote, “until we need to raise taxes”. It is now clear: taxes will rise under the Conservatives.
